The beach. Not just the beach. But laying down in the cool sand at night looking up at the stars. This is how Aristotle Williams spent her nights. She hated her house, so she had to escape somewhere. The junior made her way over the little hill and took her shoes and socks off. She then slipped her jacket off and laid it down under her head. She then put an ear bud in one ear and turned the shuffle on. She laid down and just looked up at the stars and began to think. She was a junior in high school now. She was a part of the ‘Pina Colada’ clique at school. She was musically talented as well as the swim team captain and part of the dance squad. She wanted to be Student Council president next year. She would have plenty to fill on her college application, but no money to help her out. She was only at Carnwell on a scholarship. Her parents didn’t help her at all. She had to make her own money and buy her own things. She got money at Christmas and her birthday from her grandparents, but no one else.
Her parents were bad people. They emotionally abused her, telling her that she would never amount to anything in life. They didn’t support her in anything she did. She got her first guitar at a pawn shop by trading in her landline phone that she got herself from saving money. It was a piece of crap, but she learned everything on that thing. She eventually got a better one, but in one of her father’s drunken rampages, he accidentally smashed it. She got a job at the mall for modern wage, but it got her decent money and she’s smart with it. At least her parents fed her.
She closed her eyes and just wished her parents would leave her alone. She probably had enough money saved in the bank to get her own crap apartment better than she lives in right now, well, during the summer anyways. She sat up and turned off her iPod. She then started to walk out to the ocean waves. It was sort of cold, but she just stood there and let the waves wash over her feet.
